Data Deletion Instructions
How to delete data held by Reckon, your account, a connected ad account's synced history, or a comment you wrote on a Facebook or Instagram post.
Effective 6 September 2026 · For Reckon users, ad account owners, and anyone whose data reached us through Meta
Reckon by supermargin holds advertising data that people ask us to delete for different reasons. Find the case that matches yours below. Every route ends in the same guarantee: we remove the data from live systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days, and we confirm in writing when it is done.
1. Stop Reckon reading an ad account
- Sign in to Reckon and open Settings → Accounts.
- Find the connected account and choose Disconnect.
This takes effect immediately: the stored access token is destroyed, the connection is removed, and nothing further is read from that account.
Disconnecting stops future syncing. It does not erase the history already synced, to have that removed, send the deletion request in section 3 and we will act on it within the timetable at the top of this page.
2. Remove Reckon from your Facebook account
You can revoke us from Meta's side, without signing in to Reckon:
- Go to Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.
- Find Reckon in the list of active apps.
- Choose Remove, and tick the option to delete the posts, videos or events the app posted if it is offered.
Meta notifies us when you do this, and we revoke every connection authorised by that Facebook identity as soon as the notice arrives. To have the data already synced through those connections erased as well, send the request in section 3. Meta's removal flow revokes access; it does not reach into our database.
For Google Ads, the equivalent is Google Account → Third-party apps with account access: find Reckon and choose Remove access. That withdraws the Google authorisation behind every Google Ads account you connected. Again, it stops the reading; section 3 is what erases what was already read.
3. Ask us to delete data
Email [email protected] with the subject line Data deletion request. Include:
- the email address on your Reckon account, or the workspace name;
- what you want deleted, your user account, one connected ad account's synced history, the whole workspace, or specific records;
- for an ad account, its id (for example
act_1234567890for Meta, or the ten-digit customer id for Google Ads).
We acknowledge within 72 hours. We may ask one question to verify that the request comes from someone entitled to make it: we will not delete a workspace's data on the word of an unverified stranger. We complete deletion within 30 days and confirm by email.
4. You commented on an ad, and want that comment gone
Where an advertiser has enabled Comment Insights, Reckon stores the public comments under the posts behind their ads, the text, the author's public display name, and engagement counts. If you wrote one and want it out of Reckon:
- Deleting the comment on Facebook or Instagram is the fastest route: it disappears from the platform and stops being resynced.
- To have what we already hold removed, email [email protected] with a link to the comment or post and the display name you used. We will delete it and tell the advertiser whose workspace held it.
You do not need a Reckon account to make this request, and we will not charge you or ask you to create one.
5. Close your account entirely
Ask us to close the workspace using the request in section 3. Export anything you want to keep first: boards, reports and synced history are not recoverable afterwards. Closing removes your profile, your workspace's configuration, every connection and token, and all synced advertising, creative and comment data, on the 30-day timetable above.
We keep only what the law requires us to keep: records for tax, accounting or an active legal claim, and we delete those when the statutory period ends.
6. What we cannot delete for you
- Data held by Meta or Google. Reckon only ever read those accounts; ask the platform directly.
- Your Meta or Google account itself.
- Data another workspace holds about the same ads, where a different customer connected the same account under their own authority.
- Aggregated, anonymised statistics that can no longer identify you, your workspace or any individual.
If something here does not fit your case, write to [email protected] and describe it, a request that does not match a heading is still a request, and we will answer it. Your wider rights, and how to escalate, are in the Privacy Policy.
