Platform Disclosures

The disclosures Meta and Google require of a tool built on their APIs: scopes, limited use, brand, and what Reckon does not do.

Effective 6 September 2026 · For Customers, and Meta and Google platform reviewers

Reckon is built on the Meta Marketing API and the Google Ads API. This page collects the statements those platforms require us to publish, together in one place.

1. Reckon is read-only

Reckon requests read permissions only. It cannot create, edit, pause, resume, budget, bid or spend in any advertising account. Every recommendation it produces is executed by a person, in the platform's own tools, or not at all.

2. Meta

Permissions we request
ads_read, for read-only access to the ad accounts you select. Where your workspace uses Comment Insights, pages_read_user_content as well, to read the public comments on the posts behind your active ads. Nothing that writes.
How we use Platform Data
Only to provide analytics and recommendations to the customer whose accounts they came from. We do not sell it, transfer it to a data broker, use it to target advertising or build audiences, use it for eligibility decisions, use it for surveillance, combine one customer's data with another's, or use it to train foundation models.
Deletion
Instructions are at usereckon.ai/legal/data-deletion, which is the Data Deletion Instructions URL registered for our app. Removing Reckon from your Facebook settings revokes our access immediately; the page explains how to have already-synced data erased too.
Retention
As described in the Privacy Policy. We delete Platform Data when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, when a customer asks, or when Meta requires it.
Independence
Reckon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or a product of Meta Platforms, Inc. Meta, Facebook and Instagram are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc.

3. Google

Reckon's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Scopes we request
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords for read-only Google Ads reporting, plus openid and email to identify which Google account authorised the connection.
Tool type
Reckon is a reporting-only Google Ads API client: it reads reports and never mutates a campaign. Creation and management functionality under the Required Minimum Functionality policy therefore does not apply to it. Reporting functionality does, and we implement it for each level of the Google Ads hierarchy Reckon displays.
You can get your own access
You do not need Reckon to reach your own Google Ads data. You may obtain your own Google Cloud Platform account and your own Google Ads API developer token directly from Google, and access your accounts programmatically without us. Disconnecting Reckon does not affect that.
Brand
Reckon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC, and does not replicate the look and feel of the Google Ads interface. Google, Google Ads and YouTube are trademarks of Google LLC.
Your obligations
Using Reckon does not displace your own obligations under the Google Ads policies and the Google Ads terms and conditions.

4. Public advertising libraries

Reckon's competitor views draw on advertising the platforms themselves publish for transparency, the Meta Ad Library and the Google Ads Transparency Center. We use that data to show which ads a brand is running publicly. We do not use it to identify individuals, and we do not present it as data from an advertiser's own account.

5. Accuracy and attribution

Figures in Reckon come from the platforms' reporting APIs and inherit their attribution models, their settling behaviour, and their revisions. A number can change after the fact because the platform changed it. Where a counter cannot be summed honestly across a window, Reckon says the figure is approximate rather than presenting an arithmetic that would be wrong, and where a platform reports nothing it says so rather than showing a zero.
